"When the Mafia murders the one person she's ever loved, a sexy assassin executes a righteous and bloody revenge!" Or, so says the product description. I would think that "Black Orchid" would have been a better title, because we learn that the heroine "Ran" is actually an assassin that goes by that name. She is a Chinese girl in Japan to kill Yakuza. Believe it or not, I was a little bored when the third scene of the movie turned into a long slo-mo love scene and was complaining about lack of plot and character development. Boy was I wrong, this one caught me off guard with a better than usual plot. And not only is this a sexy female assassin movie, but a revenge flick as well.

All things considered it wasn't as sexy, slick and ultra-violent as some of my favorites in this genre. But it really stands on it's own making you hate the villains and cheer for the hero more than usually found in such fare. The sex is decent but sparse, and the action isn't as over the top, but the story more than makes up for all of that making this one worth watching even if you've seen a lot of similar films.
