ALIVE. I waited a long time to see this movie, it's something I stumbled across on the web and it took some time for me to buy it (not easy to find...plus I didn't want to pay full price). Unfortunately while I was waiting to but the DVD I found the manga scanned and posted on a website...so I knew more as I sat down to watch it than I really wanted to. I'll try to avoid spoiling any of the twists. Well, I have to spoil a few just to tell you enough to see if you are interested.

You should know by now I like revenge flicks, and this one has some similarities to "The Crow". The main character's girlfriend was raped and the hero killed the rapists. The girlfriend is found dead and he is blamed for her death and sent to the electric chair. The movie gets more interesting after he is "killed" in the electric chair. He is given the choice of actually dying...or submitting to secret experiments...locked away in a hidden hi-tech prison cell. The bulk of the movie deals with the hero submitted to mind games along with another prisoner, a serial killer. The prison setting has drawn comparisons to the movie "The Cube". The end of the movie has lots of action and special effects with a "matrix" style...but you'll have to see for yourself how the story gets there.
