The story of my computer.

The rig consists of these components:

Motherboard:    NF7S version 2
Processor:   AMD Barton 2500 (1.8 GHz stock)
Water Block:   White Water by Dtek lapped to 1500
Pump:   Quiet One 1200
Heater Core:   1986 Chevetter Heater Core
with  with two 120mm ultra quiet panaflo fans (push/pull)
two DIY shrouds made from 1.3 quart rubbermaid tupperware
RAM:   Muskhin Black Lvl 2 3500 DDR (bh5 chips)
Power Supply:   Antec Performance 350W  (model SL350)
Hard Drive:   WD 120G connected via SATA
Video Card:   ATI Radeon 9600 Pro
Case:   Antec Solution Series SLK3800AMB

Temperatures:    CPU Idle 36C, max load 40C ambient usually around 28C
    Ambient usually around 28C

The processor has been overclocked at 200x11 giving it a speed of 2.2GHz currently.  I just switched to water cooling though and I hope to improve this to 2.4GHz soon.

To OC my northbridge, I did the VDD pencil mod which can be found here in an attempt to increase my FSB.  I havent had as much luck as I would like with that though.  I am planning to lap my northbridge and improve my stock northbridge cooling.  I will probably play with it more in the first quarter of 2004.

The video card is also overclocked.  It comes stock at 400/300 and mine runs fine at 469/340 with stock air cooling.  I plan to add a GPU water block soon and hope to get to 485/350.

The ram is running at 11,3,2,2 right now.  I havent played with it as much as I had hoped because my windows likes to get corrupted when I do.

I added mosfet cooling.  I cut up an old acer heat sink and installed a 40mm fan to help with the cooling.  I haven't tested to see if this improves my stability at higher FSB's but it definitely keeps the mosfets cooler than they were.

The case has been modded.  I cut a hole for an acrylic window in the side.  The intake and exhaust stock fan grates were removes and replaces with standard wire fan grills.  The intake fan hole was then expanded to allow the entire fan to move 1/2 way outside the case during operation and allow for easier installation and removal of the heater core.  You can see pictures here.
