By 1978, a number of factors (population shifts to the suburbs, the collapse of the Louisville City school system, court-ordered busing) left Male High’s once mighty program struggling. During the lean, early years of the Traditional school program, squads like this one (known as the “Thin Thirty” for obvious reasons) continued to play an eleven game 4A varsity schedule.
