That Old Rivalry, by Eustace Williams, Published by John P. Morton, Louisville, 1940, 314 pages, with many black and white photos. Chronicles the Male/Manual rivalry each season from the beginning in 1893 through 1940 (although later printings cover the series through 1942). The First Hundred Years: The Story of Louisville Male High School, by Sam Adkins and M.R. Holtzman, Published by Louisville Male High School Alumi Association, 1956 (reprinted in 1991 with 1957-1991 addendum), the original 1956 printing has 288 pages, the 1991, 391 pages, some photos and illustrations. Documents the founding and history of Male High, including the famous rivalry with DuPont Manual. Stand Up and Cheer: The Official History of DuPont Manual High School, by Mike McDaniel, Published by Butler Book Publishing, 2005, 200 pages, with many color and B&W photographs. Covers the founding and history of Manual High School, from its origins as a manual training school to its present status as a county-wide magnet school.
