Condo

Fully furnished One Bedroom, One Bath - The place might as well be new. After hurricane Floyd in 1999 they pretty much rebuilt the whole area. The condo has all new appliances (toaster, microwave,  oven and range, refrigerator and coffee maker.  It has a new air conditioner. We have cable  TV with a  VCR. We have stocked the condo with about 20 VCR tapes (just in case it rains). We have a stereo  that plays cd's. We have some books but will be bringing  down more  in the future. There is a local library so feel free to visit it.  Bring a beach towel, suntan lotion, and,  depending on the time of year, bug spray. There is a Laundromat in the office that is free to the guests. (go early in the morning or late at night to make sure you can get a machine)  In the office building there is a room that has a RO (reverse osmosis)  machine. It makes bottled water. The condo has a couple of gallon jugs that we keep in the refrigerator. Just take them over and fill them up when you need drinking water.  We just use bottled water to be extra safe. We enjoy sharing our little slice of heaven so please have a look and let us know what you think.

New for 2003: Two bicycles for use when your visiting  our place.

Things to Do

Cocopanoramic.jpg (214527 bytes)Beach - 3 1/2 miles of it,  just across the street. But don't stop there. There are beautiful beaches everywhere. If you rent a boat go to the northern tip of Guana Cay. It's called Baker's Bay. It was a stop for a cruise ship. There must be millions of dollars of stuff just laying around. It's like an old ghost town. It's really eerie. There are uninhabited islands you can go to with a picnic lunch and spend the day picking up shells.

Rich'sboat.JPG (106440 bytes)Boating - You can rent a runabout 20 yards (Rich's Boat Rentals) or (J.I.C. Boat Rental) from  your back door and explore the many inhabited and uninhabited cays within a half hour from you. (you can rent a boat by the day or week and park it at your back door.) If you are going to rent a boat you need to get a copy of Steve Dodge's The Cruising Guide to Abaco, 2001. They have them in Abaco or you can buy it at Amazon.com.

Golf - "#1 Golf Course In The Bahamas" - Golf Digest (June 2001)  Play golf on an 18 hole Dick Wilson designed course.   ( rent a golf cart (Cash's Resort Carts) and drive it to the course) You can also rent a cart and go anywhere in Treasure Cay.

Capt_Sandy.jpg (124995 bytes)Fishing - You can go on a deep sea fishing charter with Capt. Sandy Roberts 242-365-8184 (his boat is out your back door to the right). You can  go with a local guide (Mark Carroll takes small groups out fishing and then to a deserted island to fix you a picnic).  He'll catch all the fish if you want him to. His boat is out you're back door. Had a fellow that stayed at our place and went bone fishing with Carey "Pope" McKenzie 242-477-5894 and had a great time.

Rent a Car - Rent a car from Triple J Car Rentals and explore the island of Abaco. (even though you don't have to go any farther than Treasure Cay to enjoy a great vacation)

Prozac Ferry.JPG (142946 bytes)Take a Ferry - Catch the  Abaco Adventures  (Check with Ozzie the owner about what is offered) ferry outside your back door and sight see the outer cays (islands). This is a must if you don't rent a boat. You can catch Green Turtle Ferry to go over to Green Turtle Cay for the day.

Dive Shop.JPG (295562 bytes)Diving and Snorkeling - There are a  couple of local dive shops (Treasures Divers) or (Mark Carroll at (242) 365-8582 within 100 yards of your condo) and there's  Brendal's on Green Turtle Cay or There's Dive Abaco in Marsh Harbour.

 Besttenniscourts.JPG (58829 bytes)Tennis -   Mariner's Cove has 4 tennis courts on the property.

Features

Banyanpanoramic2.jpg (137045 bytes)Water - You probably wonder why I put  water as a  feature of an island. Because it's so gin clear. It's so clear you can't tell if you're in 20 feet or 5 feet of water.

twochairs.jpg (50399 bytes)3 1/2 mile beach - There are not proper words that would describe the stretch of beach that is about 150 yards from your front door. National Geographic Magazine has rated it one of the top 10 beaches in the world.

Full Service Marina - The marina ( Treasure Cay Marina ) is outside your back door, and has 150 slips that are full service. Boats up to 140 ft. are welcome and you do see some beautiful yachts pull in. You will tie up your boat rental just outside your back door. The marina has its own pool and by the pool is the Tipsy Seagull, an outside large bar that has pizza night every Thursday. Everyone is welcome.

Spinnaker Restaurant - It is on the marina so it's walking distance from the condo. We usually have one meal there. No cooking that night.

Restaurants - There are 2 or 3 restaurants in the area but you have to hail a cab to get to them. They will send a cab free of charge if you call ahead.

Golf Course - 18 hole Dick Wilson designed course. It has been said it is the best golf course in the Bahamas.

Florence's - At least one morning you have to walk or ride over to Florence's bakery and sample one of her cinnamon rolls. It is an early morning meeting place and a great place to get a cup of coffee and roll. She also makes fresh bread (regular and French style)

Stores - There is a strip shopping area that is about 200 yards from your condo. In it you'll find: grocery store, liquor store, bicycle rental, golf cart rental, car rental, a convenience store open later than the other places. (great for the things you missed)

Swimming Pool - Mariner's Cove has a good sized swimming pool. It does have a heater if it needs it in the winter.
