You were born to the saddle, either that or you've spent so much time in it's as near as damnit. As such you have the ability to battle in the saddle without so much as a second thought.
System: The player with this knack never has to split his dice pool in order to engage in combat while mounted.(He may steer with his knees and keep both hands free without penalty.) He may also add his intuitive facet to any kind of dex based roll if performing some kind of saddleborne acrobatics. Hanging off the side of the mount and using it for cover, reversing his facing in the saddle, Vaulting into the saddle from a standing start, Hanging from the underside all fall under this bonus.
This knack will stack with the Beastmaster form of Wheelman.
Prerequisite: Requires a Dex of 3 or better and an Animal handling score of 3 or better.
Rousing Performance (Daredevil Knack)
We Few. We Happy Few. We Band of Brothers...
There are many performers on the stage of life. Unlike most of them, you can reach back for something extra and inspire people with your performance. Whether through Oratory, Stand-up comedy, stage acting or musical performance. You can help people feel better about themselves.
System: The daredevil puts on a performance of some sort. For the expenditure of 1 willpower, he gains extra dice equal to his Intuitive facet. If he makes more than 3 successes on the performance then every single person who observes his performance gains an additional willpower point. For every 3 successes thereafter the observers gain an additional willpower point. This may even push people past their ordinary willpower score up to a maximum of 10.
This process can be somewhat draining for the artist in question. He does not gain any willpower from the performance himself. Not even if he has a virtue that would ordinarily allow him to. (I.E. a person with the Jester virtue gain no willpower even if he makes a room full of people laugh like hell.)
This process may be reattempted if the performer desires but each subsequent attempt for the audience will cost an additional willpower.
Prerequisite: Requires a Performance score of 3 or better or Rapport of 3 or better.
Appraisers Eye (Daredevil Knack)
Whoa! Cecile! If you're going to throw something at me... throw the dish by the sideboard, not the vase in your hand!
You have an unfailing ability to somehow sense how much something is worth. You aren't taken in by fakes and you occasionally spot people with valueable articles with no sense of how much they are worth. How unscrupulously you deal with these people is up to you.
System: You can estimate to within a few dollars the relative worth of any article that you are allowed to examine and/or handle. You are never taken in by fakes. (you may not allways know why but most of the time you do.) You never have to make a roll for this ability.
Prerequisite: The player who has this knack must possess Investigation or Savvy of 3 or better.
Subtext Reader (Daredevil Knack)
"Well that went poorly, I wonder why Blake was so defensive?"
"Honestly Rick. He's covering for Regina."
"But why on earth would he do that. I thought they hated one another?"
"They may not get along publicly but they are definitely intimate with one another. You can see it in the way they look at one another and how they stand when the other is around. Aren't you supposed to be a detective?"
Maybe you were raised in a large family or maybe you just know how to read people but you seem to have a real gift for seeing the feelings behind the words that people say.
System: The daredevil with this knack has the ability to sense the emotional content in any social situation. This can be used to figure out who is really in charge in any group, Who is sleeping with who and who hates who. Non-Inspired people cannot actually conceal their feelings from the Daredevil but any inspired character may try to conceal their emotional content from the daredevil if they possess more than 2 dots of Subterfuge. The player still recieves a bonus for each dot of Reflective Facet they possess.
Note: Emotion reading is not the same as lie detecting. a person may be emotionally conflicted about the words he's saying without lying. This Knack has no effect on Characters who possess either Master of Dissimulation or Emotional Suppression.
Prerequisite: This knack requires that the user possess 3 dots of Rapport or Perception.
