Double K Recording Studio started in July of 1998 in a basement. Owner Kenny Marine and Kathy Yates started the business with modest intentions. Kenny, an accomplished local musician and tech savy recording enthusiast wanted to help local musicians get a great sounding demo without having to pawn their gear to get it. With the help of a local investor and family member Kathy Yates (Mom) the dream of the studio was born. To give thanks for her help and support Kenny named the studio Double K. This was of course K for Kenny and K for Kathy. Since then the business has branched out into its current South Louisville facility. Recently in 2012 the studio added new services from owner Kenny Marine's other field of expertise, graphic design. Double K offers album design as well as any other music related design project. Kathy Yates no longer is active in the business, but she is a supporter of what we do. We enjoy giving our customers what they want, a good sounding product that they can be proud of. Double K has seen many years of success and still remains one of the premier recording studios in Louisville Ky for songwriters and artists. In 2012 we also added teaching to our list of services. We now offer recording classes as well as classes for private instruction on guitar, bass guitar, and drums. Double K has a bright future and with our customer's support, we will come out on top.
