Body Installation
Major milestone. We put the body back on this weekend. Still sits a little high, kind of like a four-wheel drive Vette! So there's a lot of suspension adjustment we need to make. But, for the first time in 2 1/2 years, its a real car. Here's some pics...
Getting ready...
One last check. Man, I hope we didn't forget too much. Don't want to do this again.
Slung up and ready to lift.
View of lift / sling arrangement from the other side.
Sorry, not too many pictures of the actual lift. There were about 6 of us, wrestling and wrangling with it to get it back on. Couple of notes for those attempting:
You can use a regular engine lift, make sure it will clear the exhaust under the car. As you can see, I used two heavy tow straps and an eyelet sling to lift it. You can get it high enough to cover an installed gas tank and hi-rise air cleaner. To make it easier, we RTV-ed the spacers down so they wouldn't fall out. Finally, as you can see, doors, headlights and windshield are removed, but everything in the engine bay is installed. So its not that heavy / hard to maneuver when its in the air. I wanted to get all of the components (harnesses, A/C housing, power brake booster, heater hoses etc.) installed since they were easier to access with the body off..
Back on and ready to roll downstairs...
