Tribute to Maxboxing Mods
Tribute to Maxboxing Mods

I recently received a message from someone asking about this "Tribute to Lord Kayoss" message board thread where Your's Truly is the subject of some kind of all-out attack. Apparently, if you take the time to google my name and root through the results it eventually pops up. It wasn't till about midway through the email that the sender referenced the forums at maxboxing.com. "Oh yea, those guys," I thought to myself. I remember a few amusing exchanges with them, stemming from an issue that occurred on the forums there some years ago.

So, I followed the link from the sender to the thread and skimmed over the hater jargon. Sure enough, they were talking about me. There were inflammatory comments about my website, my physical appearance, writing style, and pro wrestling history to name a few. Also, excerpts from old blogs as well as info I had disclosed about myself on websites completely unrelated to this one or theirs. The sender exclaimed "Wow!" and had asked: "Doesn't this piss you to high hell?" Nope, not in the least. Honestly, I found it flattering. And thinking back to when the blow up occurred between myself and these guys, I remember it being an eye-opening experience, as it alerted me to the kind of ability I have to effect people to such a degree. Back then, Manny Pacquiao and Erik Morales were amidst of their epic three-fight trilogy. Wladimir Klitschko had flattened Chris Byrd and solidified himself as THE heavyweight champion of the world. Oscar De La Hoya was coming off the heels of obliterating boxing's then bad boy Ricardo Mayorga. Sugar Shane Mosley & Fernando Vargas were gonna be hooking it up soon. Evander Holyfield was training for a major heavyweight comeback. And despite all that, the confrontation between myself and the maxboxing message board admins was the hottest thing going on the forums. For these guys to be mods (hello again, glockwork) on a very popular and busy forum, only to take the time to not only root through my website and dig around, looking for things about me to exaggerate and twist to insult me, but also to google my name and spend the extra time digging around on other online communities I participated in at the time and continue to insult me for months after I verbally carved them up and moved on..........all I can say: I must be doing something right! Maxboxing.com is generally thought of as a pretty prestigious boxing community, and you'd think their forum mods are supposed to maintain a certain level of professionalism and integrity. Instead, they spent six months publicly obsessing about some guy from the forums who refused to be belittled and basically told them to 'stick it'. Heh, well -- I hope it made you feel better.

Am I gonna be upset over some mindless hater jargon? As if! I am entertained by it, and sorry they didn't continue the discussion to infinity. I cross-checked my website traffic to the dates when that hate thread was most active. All they were doing was getting people curious about me which prompted them to click and engage my website, thereby increasing my traffic and notoriety on search engines. And for the open-minded, free-spirited individuals who did, I picked up some new readers/viewers during that time. I remember getting multiple emails from members of that forum, many of whom verbally high-fived me for standing up for myself during the initial conflict and for not allowing the crass admin monkeys there to disrespect me. Looking back and realizing that after-thread is still out there actually makes me laugh. I hope they keep it there forever. It's a good reminder of the type of inspiration I can draw from those kind of people. They say 'imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.' And while I agree, I tend to think envy is an even stronger variation. And looking at those comments about my 'scrawny arms, double-chin, & big fat sucked-in gut', I can only smile and reiterate that I must've left my mark on these clowns somethin' awful.

Thanks for the confidence boost, Guys. Take care, keep tunin' in, and thanks again for sending the traffic my way! Just think, had you taken the time to be nice about it I might've even sent you a check for the advertising!

Sincerely,
Your Good Buddy,
LORD 'scrawny arms, double-chin, big fat sucked-in gut' KAYOSS.

Photobucket Sucks Right Now

Peace.
