While I was in Pohnpei, I had several people ask me to tell them things they could send in the mail.  So I've decided to set up this pages as some hints for making a great care package or just writing a letter.  Believe it or not, I love getting letters just as much as a box o' fun!
For a good ole letter: Write a vivid and detailed account of what you did today.  It doesn't matter that you may think there's nothing exciting to tell me about.  Tell me about it, anyway.
Tell me some of your "favorite things." . . . I keep a "happy book," which is a listing of simple (and not-so-simple) things that make me happy.  I also pass this book around to others and have them write in it.  Even though you don't have my actual happy book in which to document your happy thoughts, consider sharing some with me in a letter.
Send newspapers (local or national) or magazines to help me stay in the loop.
Send pictures from whatever you've been doing lately.  Somebody's birthday celebration.  Soccer game.  Concert.  School play.  A night with your friends.  I love to look at pictures.

Yummy Goodness:

Gummy Bears

Gummy Worms

Pretzels & a jar of Nutella

Candy Apple suckers (the green ones with the caramel inside)

Twizzlers

Laffy Taffy

Take 5 candy bars

Your favorite book I've developed a real appreciation for books and I love to know what other people are reading.  I'd love if you'd share one of your favorites with me!
Necessities

Deodorant

Toothpaste

Shampoo

Hair rubberbands (the "ouchless" ones without the metal piece)

Soap

Razor blades

Saline Solution for contact lenses

A new book: Wander through the "Christian Inspiration" or "Other Religion" sections at a book store and pick out something that catches your eye.  I'm always overwhelmed when I walk through these aisles and I wish I had enough money to buy armfulls of these books.  Or send a "classic novel" . . . you know what I'm talking about . . . the ones I was supposed to read in high school and college, but only kinda skimmed through and read the Cliff Notes instead.

The Color Purple

To Kill a Mockingbird

Schindler's List

Mix CD's: Send me a collection of your favorite tunes.  I can't even begin to describe the excitement I get when I can pop in a CD I've never heard before.
Odds and ends:

Candles

Envelopes

Stationery

Colored pencils, Pens, Markers

Rechargeable AA batteries

T-shirts No matter what country I'm in, the fact always remains that I love t-shirts.  I especially like used t-shirts.  Send me some of your old shirts, or a new one if you're feeling generous.  (Size M or L, please)
Money for something local If you'd like to have a little piece of Bolivia for yourself, I would be happy to pick out something and send it to you.  Just send along some money, let me know what you'd like (or just let me surprise you) and I will send the fun along to you.  This would be a great way to contribute to the people of Bolivia and also help along the business sector in which I will work.
