City of Heroes

This page is basically a bunch of screenshots from an online rpg I play called City of Heroes.  A lot of random images I've acquired throughout my stay in Paragon City, some cool, some funny, some just plain weird.  Enjoy ;)  For those of you that are in the Ancients of the City with me, the pictures from my birthday are down at the bottom, but feel free to browse the others as well.

-- The Legendary Mythic Volsung (Invulnerability/Stone Melee Tanker on the Victory Server)

Played by Raleigh Barrett ( http://www.arthyron.tk )

Member of the Ancients of the City (a division of The Ancients of the Realm)

Clones--Here what I tried to do was to recreate an existing person/character using the highly advanced City of Heroes character creation system.  These are some of the better results:

This is my attempt at Noserfatu Zodd, a character from the anime series BERSERK.

This is probably my most proud achievement.  It was during beta, on a "launch day test" in which we all made new characters to simulate the launch of the game.  During these times people would try to make the funniest characters or clones they could.  In a fit of genius I remembered a favorite movie from my childhood:  Disney's The Rocketeer.  So this is what I ended up with! ;)

As you probably know, the Incredible Hulk is just about my favorite superhero, so I made a clone of one of his incarnations, The Professor.

Another one of my moments of genius (though I owe partial credit to my friend Ryan for the inspiration), we decided to make Ronald McDonald and put him to work fighting crime.

Ronald fighting the good fight, taking down those bad guys.

Ronald in a dumpster....err.....

While Ronald was out fighting crime, the Grimace was forced to stay at home.

Not my own, but hilarious none the less, behold George Lucas.

A nod to the Quentin Tarentino action movie Kill Bill (once again not mine).

This is my tribute to one of my favorite tv shows: Highlander.  I made Duncan MacLeod, the main character of the show.

Another funny one I came across, someone made Duke Nukem.

Rather original, I saw this one on my way into city hall, it's Commando Smurf.

The same night we made Ronald, we also made The Terminator.

My attempt at making Alphonse Elric from the anime series Fullmetal Alchemist

My attempt at making Edward Elric from the anime series Fullmetal Alchemist.

Bass player for my favorite band, Kamelot, Glen Barry.

Drummer, Casey Grillo.

Vocalist, Roy Khan.

Guitarist, Thomas Youngblood.

Here I tried to make Jet Black from the anime Cowboy Bebop.

Lord Byron, vocalist for one of my other favorite bands, Bal Sagoth.

Ed and Al's sensei's husband Sig from the anime Fullmetal Alchemist (my favorite character in the show).

My nod to one of my favorite literary characters, Tarzan of the Apes.

I tried to recreate William Wallace (the historical one, not the Mel Gibson one) in Paragon city as best I could (it was tough due to the lack of kilts).

Vocalist for the German industrial band RAMMS+EIN.

Here I tried to make my own version of the Norse god Odin.

Another shot of Odin.

These were two characters based on characters my friend and I had in a pencil and paper RPG campaign a while back:  Arthyron (my character) and Tabris Sabbaoth (Rob's character).

My actual characters

This is my main character, Volsung, sort of a viking motif going on I know.  He's the character I play most often, and the one involved in the guild The Ancients of the City.  He's a blast to play.

Me seeing how far up in the atmosphere I could get after I earned the Super Jump power.  Here you can see I reached the flight ceiling set in the game.

Volsung in his alternate costume (which is supposed to be that of a Berserker of Norse legend) doing his part in ridding the world of Fascism.  As you can see I'm taking on a gazillion Nazi troops, that's the beauty of an Invulnerability Tanker ;).

Wow, I like this character way too much for it to be healthy. :P (at least that's what you're probably thinking right now).

My Birthday Party--A few days after my birthday (which is on the 4th of July), my guild mates of The Ancients of the City  discovered that my birthday had passed, so they decided to throw an impromptu birthday party for me in Paragon City.  So in the next few pictures, I have the party at various stages.

This is where the party started.  We picked Founders Falls because it's by far the most beautiful "zone" in City of Heroes.  So that's me in the center, Safir to my right, and Frigid Bulge to my left getting the party started with some cake and cider ;) Oh and some other chap who decided to stop by.

Another person showed up out of the blue and was welcomed anyway.  However my guildmates were not content with this little celebration, so they decided we were to relocate to a more...populated area.

And by populated they meant THE most populated area in the game, Atlas Park, smack dab under the statue of Atlas himself.  They started sending frequent announcements to the whole zone about my party and where it was, so a few more people showed up.  Safir hadn't quite made it back from Founder's Falls yet.

Safir finally made her way there, and other members of the guild were alerted.

The party begins to pick up some steam, more "guests" stop by.

Our good friend and fellow guild mate Muk-Luk (she's in the grey suit with the orange accents) finally made it there, as did Megger (in the blue and yellow costume with the grey ponytail).

More guests pass by, and as you can probably tell, we were graced by the Greek god Zeus. :p

The party at it's height.  Many guests passed through, some stayed to dance, some for cake and cider, but many were just fleeting or on their way somewhere else.  All in all we had a huge turnout, but I think this is the most we had at one time.

Someone decided to bust out the fireworks.

More fireworks courtesy of Lady Muk-Luk.

Even Agent Smith from the Matrix showed up to my party.  Here he can be seen busting a move next to Muk-Luk and Frigid Bulge, both sporting our guild colors.

Finally, a dance floor, courtesy of Frigid Bulge.

The party began to dwindle, but we kept rocking.

And finally it is down to just us Ancients, finishing strong, most of us sporting the guild colors (man I look silly in purple).  Thanks for the great time, lads and lasses. ;)
