Welcome to "The Museum of DDR Simfile History" This is a project in which I'm attempting to create an archive of every single DDR simfile that has, at one time or another, been on the WWW / Internet / IRC. This includes DWI, MSD's converted to DWI, SM, and BMS files, as well as KSF files from Pump It Up because PIU songs can be played in DDR mode with StepMania. (Something I forgot to point out is that I am also collecting any and all add-ons for DWI-SM as well, such as Skins, Announcer packs, etc.) There are currently over 11,000+ songs in this collection. As you can only imagine, it becomes harder and harder to organize and track a collection of this size so I'm asking for the help of anyone and everyone in the community that is willing to help, to please do so. I plan on trying to upload the most current songslists monthly showing the newest additions to the Museum. Please keep in mind that there will certainly be a few duplicates of files that I have missed as duplicates...this is one of the reasons I need your help. If you see a file that is a duplicate, please contact me and give me the exact details you have found so I can cross check it myself directly and correct it. Also, there are files that are "miscellaneous", meaning that it has not been determined yet who was the original creator of the file or where it originated (website in which it came from). Please email me and/or chat with me on IRC / AIM or the forums if you have any requests or info on songs not in my lists ;).

Why would you possibly want to help with this project? Several reasons! First of all, you'll be helping make history because something like this has never been done before. Second, everyone that has helped already with the project has been Recognized Publically and rewarded for their help. Third, once this project is more organized and cataloged the way it needs to be, the ENTIRE Museum will be hosted in all its glory on the internet!

A couple things that will be hard for me to do: 1- Since DWI doesn't support the listing of all step sets when it creates the html songlist, I will need to somehow indicate what I have that the songlist is not currently showing (such as battle steps and beginner steps); 2- The songlist that DWI creates does not show other miscellaneous info that needs to be shown, such as character files, songs that I have that are incomplete (such as the four rare step sets from Dancing Stage Dreams Come True); 3- and lastly, which banner and background images I have, as well as alternate images.

I've wrestled with what would/could be the best way to do all this and I've decided that, due to current hosting issues, the best way to do this is:

• DWI, SM, BMS, & KSF Files: Almost all of the DWI files I have for the official mixes are from DDRUK. However, if there are files or step set info that I have that are not currently available at DDRUK, I will make a note of it as well as host the file here for download. This way, anyone who wishes to, can cross check it in order to varify it or make those parts of the collection complete. However, with the DWI, SM, BMS, & KSF Originals files, I will defnitely need to host the files either here or elsewhere due to the fact that there are so many. I would like to get feedback on what you the community feels would be the best way to go about this.

• In depth DWI info such as Banners, Backgrounds, Characters, MP3's, Anims, CDTitles, Courses, VIS's, Movies, Skins, Sounds, and file size info and possibly thumbnail images for quick referencing.....

• In depth SM, BMS, & KSF info such as Banners, Backgrounds, Characters, MP3's, BGAnimations, CDTitles, Courses, Announcers, Movies, NoteSkins, Visualizations, Themes, and file size info and possibly thumbnail images for quick referencing.....

(OK, I stopped uploading my lists because I can't keep up with them and I keep getting people saying stupid things like, "you don't have...." when I do...they are looking at an old list which is not reflecting what I currently have....I think I'm going to just have people email/PM me from now on to ask about songs in my lists)
