Francis Elizabeth Masters McMillen (1849-1914) m. John C. McMillen (1840-1877)
James Alfred lived in Elizabethtown, KY and is buried
at Sycamore Methodist Cemetary. Per Civil War records, he was drafted
on September 24, 1864 in the Union Army, Company F of the 21st Regiment
of Kentucky Volunteers commanded by Captain Jasper F Morton and was honorably
discharged at Camp Harper (Nashville, TN) on June 21, 1865. On march
between Strawberry Plain and Bulk's Gap, TN during the winter of 1864/1865,
he contracted "disease of lungs" from exposure and spent six weeks in a
Huntsville, AL hospital. This illness contributed to his death many
years later. He was 5' 6" tall, light complexion, dark hair, and
gray eyes.
Sarah Jane Stader's parents were John Stader (1799-1878)
and Susannah Crowe (1801-1900). Sarah's siblings were Mary Ann Stader
(married Clay Shelton), John Stader (married Rachel Stovall, kids were
William C, Ida, James, Sudie, John Horace, Hezekiah), Isabelle Catherine
Stader (married Henry Franklin Patterson, child Lizzie Mae), and Nancy
E Stader (married George W Bailey, kids were Owen, Alex, Isabelle, Myrtle,
Minnie, Colmore, Bridge, Henry, and Joseph C).

MacGruder's parents were William Selby and Sarah MacGruder. Elizabeth's
brother Richard was in Maryland in 1795 and later moved to Hardin County,
KY. More than likely, Joshua and Elizabeth accompanied Richard on
this move.

Maryland 1723 and died in October, 1777. William's first wife was
Margaret Beale and they were married in Frederick County, Maryland
in 1748. Margaret was born about 1726 in Maryland and died August, 1806
in Washington, D.C. William and Margaret had three kids: Sarah, William,
and Verlinda. William left Margaret in 1753 without a divorce.
William then lived with Tryphenia North but there were never married.
Tryphenia's children by her first marriage were John, William and Dorcas
North. They eventually took the Masters surname and used their natural
name, North as a middle name.
