Happenings

Our pre-walk meeting was held on March 25th at the Lutheran Church of our Redeemer. There were eleven members present. Plans were made for the Harmonie State Park walk on April 10th. We were brought up to date on running the water station for the Southern Indiana Classic Marathon on April 11 and our participation in Walk and Roll Week in May.

Sue would like to have a volunteer Trail Master for each of our YREs.Their duties would be to make sure that the "Walk Box" is stocked and to make sure that local traffic changes do not require a change in our walk routes. Any volunteers should tell Sue at Harmonie or email her (Sue's email)

Since we are loosing our president, Sue Taylor, due to her husband Bill's, new job in Seattle, Washington we need a new president. Sue will be moving there as soon as they can wind up their affairs here in Evansville. Sue had been helping as a "president-in-training" for some time before she actually took over the title.

So, now we are looking for someone to take over as president. Linda Neu, our vice president, is wintering in Florida and will not be back in Evansville until May. Besides needing a new president, we need someone to temporarily store the material that the club has accumulated for use at our walks. Besides the brochures there are coolers, tubs with check in site supplies and a few other items. We should get these items out of Sue's way so she can pack. Any volunteers for either or both of these needs?

RCR 2010 Upcoming Events

Hope you marked your calendars for 2010! Please note our walks for this year , both as an event and as needing volunteers to help out:
Harmonie - April 10
Pike - June 19
Princeton - Sept. 18
Ferdinand - November 20

Next up is a kickoff walk at the Wesseleman Nature Preserve on May 1st. Everything should be blooming or greened up by then. Come and explore the Nature Preserve. If by chance it r**ns, we have an alterative walk that takes us through the University of Evansville campus.
The week after that on May 8, we have the Audbon Park kickoff in Henderson, KY. Put on those walking shooes and come and join in the fun!

Washington Indiana

On FRIDAY April 16 at 6pm the Flying Fish Volkssport Ass. ( Bloomington) is having a walk in Washington, Indiana. Here is a link to their brochure on walk. Margaret (dallave@sbcglobal.net) wrote in an email that if you contact her she could make arrangements for you to do the walk on Saturday or Sunday.

On April 24, the Columbus Wellness Walkers hold a walk in Seymour, IN.

May 16, the Lebanon Cedar Cruisers hasve a walk in Highland, IL( Google map it!!)
