This Month

There will be a Ramblers meeting Thursday, November the 5th, at St Lucas United Church of Christ, 33 W Virginia, 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be election of officers. We are looking for a person to fill the position of vice president.
We also need to set up crews to handle the upcoming Christkindlmarket Walk at Ferdinand on November 21st.

The last Indiana State Park walk of 2009 will be next Saturday October 24 at Versailles.

The Derby City Walkers will have a guided group walk on the *Bernheim Forest(year round), Saturday, October 31st at 2:00 PM. A table will be set up in the Visitors Center 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM for anyone wanting to do the walk earlier and on their own. If you haven't done this walk before we will be there to help you register.
There will be a group walk at Cumberland Gap at 10 a.m. Nov. 7 beginning from the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park Visitor Center. Anyone planning to hike and spend a night or two in the area, is invited to make reservations at the Cumberland Gap Inn at Cumberland Gap, TN. Mention you are a volksmarcher and you will receive a discount. The toll free number to call to make reservations is 866-244-1183. Volksmarchers will gather together in front of the hotel at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6 and will go to the town's restaurant, Webb's, for dinner. Volksmarchers will also gather together for dinner on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 7:15 p.m. We will wait until that weekend to select the restaurant in case folks would like to try a different place. Dinner is a little later on Saturday to accommodate any Catholics who plan to attend Saturday evening Mass.
