A Stephen Crouch of Middlesex County,(NJ or VA) was one of many signatories to a letter addressed to the King of England that appears to be asking the king not to overreact to the rebellion in the northern states by a few ursurpers who hope for private gain. IF this Stephen Crouch is the same as the Stephen Crouch above was he a Tory? Or was it still too early in the American Rebellion for him to have sided with the colonies.
