I meet Brain, Kyle, Mark Sparks along with some people from the CIG at Horseman’s Camp. I showed up around 9 PM to find Brain and everyone already there. Mark wasn’t really up for bouncing Lauden’s pit due to a long cold day of ridge walking. We talked with the group for a while before heading out. I showed two new cavers the location to Landon’s Cave on our way to the parking area. At the parking area I was surprised I wasn’t the last one ready. The walk up the hill wasn’t bad. I found a small pit on the way up. It had a tight entrance and was about 20 to 25 feet deep. We fanned out and looked for the entrance to Lauden’s. Brain found it. We all geared up and went into the cave. We rigged to a tree outside and to a formation inside. I remarked about Brain gear smelling funny along with his rope smelling like dead animal. He had used his rope in a pit with a dead dear in it earlier that day. Brain went down first. Followed by Kyle who looked a bit nervous. I can’t say I blame him I was nervous on my first 100fter too. I followed. I had forgotten about all the nice formations in the pit. We climbed out in the order we went down. The walk back was short. We turned to our left a little too much and got to walk a little extra. When we arrived back at our cars we took a couple picks. I deiced to head home even though it was late. The drive home was hard for me. I was pretty tired. It was good to get under ground again. Brandon
