SWB BBS Badlands Bash

05/13/05 - 05/15/05

Well, the time has finally come to get this ball rolling. The Bash is being held again this year the same weekend as it was held last year. This seemed to work out pretty well most everyone, so why change now.

The organizers of this years event have a lot of work ahead of them to make this year's event as much of a success as last years, so the one thing that we can all do to help make their work load a little easier is get the registration forms turned in as early as possible. There are a lot of projects to take care of and items to be purchased, so the sooner the forms and money can be collected the better for everyone involved.

The group will be staying at Steam Corner Campground.

All attendees are responsible for making your own accomodations for the weekend.

Nobody is required to stay at Steam Corner, but this is where the main festivities will be taking place, and the more the merrier.

The Badlands site has links to other available lodging in the area, but it sure would be nice to have everyone together.

We plan on wheeling at the park all day Saturday as a large group. Some people will be showing up as early as Thursday night, and plan to wheel all day Friday too, while others will be staying and wheeling at least part of the day on Sunday, and I imagine every possible combination of the above. But, at a minimum, we want to have everyone together for Saturday's run. After the day is over, we will gather at Steam Corner for a pitch-in cookout, raffle drawing, and BS session.

The particulars of who will be arriving when will be discussed as the event approaches. Please indicate on the registration form, to the best of your abilities at this early time, when you plan to arrive so can have some idea of who to expect and when.

This years registration fee will once again be $35 per person. Now, not all attendees are required to pay this amount, but for this $35 you will recieve a Bash T-shirt, a dash plaque, and a ticket for the raffle. If any of your passengers/guests want these same items, then they can also register for the $35 fee. However, if your guests do not want all of these items, individual shirts can also be ordered seperatly utilizing the registration form linked below.

If you would rather pass on the goodies, and just want to run with us at the park, naturally all are welcome to do this as well. We just think it is kind of nice to have a reminder of the event as this outing is the main vacation for a lot of us and a few extra dollars to make it a little more memorable seems worthwhile.

All articles, such as shirts or raffle prizes, must be claimed at the Campground on Saturday night. You must be present to claim a raffle prize. No Exceptions!!!

Make sure you read the Badlands rules. They actually enforce them there.
DO NOT TAKE ANY ALCOHOL TO THE PARK. They could kick us all out.
Also all vehicles need an Orange Flag, and all passengers MUST be under an appropriate cage.
It's also nice if you have a CB so that we can keep in touch on the trail.

Here is the registration form. Please print out the form, and send it along with payment to the address listed on the form. Naturally, nobody is required to register to come to the Badlands and run with us. However, all registered attendees will recieve a dash plaque comemorating the event, a Tee-Shirt, and a chance at the door prizes that will be given away Saturday night.

Remember, this outing is nothing more than a group of online friends meeting to enjoy the hobby we spend the rest of the year chatting about online. Some board members have volunteered their time to help organize the event, and for this we should all be grateful. All funds collected by the coordinators from those in attendance are used to purchase the shirts, plaques, and door prizes. Nobody makes a profit from this event!!! Therefore, the organizers are in no way, shape, or form liable for any unfortunate happenings that any in attendance might encounter.
In other words, if you break your stuff, you fix your stuff. Of course, I'm sure all in attendance will be more than willing to help you fix it, and harass you mercilessly about it too.

All registration fees paid are non-refundable after the registration due date of April 2nd. All money collected by the organizers is being spent on the raffle prizes, shirts, and dash plaques. Once these items have been ordered, there is nothing that can be done to repay fees that have already been collected and spent.
