2009 PROJECTS

FEBRUARY 5-8, 11-15, and 18-22, 2009: Adam was commissioned by producer/artistic director Juergen Tossmann to write a play for Bunbury Theatre's The Honest Abe 23 Minute Play Festival. His one-act, Occasional Poisonings from the Kitchen,premiered there to critical acclaim. In addition to writing one of its plays, JACKPOT TIGER was also responsible for filming the Festival and editing/designing its DVD.

2006 PROJECTS

AUGUST 12, 17, 18, and 19: Sight and Sound presented "Live Without a Net" 2006 at the Rudyard Kipling, an evening of plays and music. Four one-act plays were part of the entertainment, including A Richard Donner Heaven, marking its second run at the Rud. This time, however, Adam directed the play, with Tiffany LaVoie as "Janis" and Mike Slaton as "Fletcher."As part of the show's publicity, Adam appeared on "Center Stage with Bradford Cummings" on WKJK 1080 AM.

2005 PROJECTS

MAY 2: The Helen Thomas opera Chasing a Precedent debuted at Kentucky Center's Bomhard Theater. Adam was the Playwright Advisor for Kentucky Opera on the project (see July 2004 below).

APRIL 27-30: Sight & Sound presented Clive Barker's A History of the Devil at Kentucky Center's MeX Theater (directed by John Hetzel), sponsored by LouisvilleMojo.com and Clifton's Pizza. Adam was the show's Production Manager, Assistant Stage Manager, and Webmaster.

Adam helped with publicity, which included a StaffPick in LEO Magazine, a feature article in The Louisville Cardinal, and an appearance on James Bicker's Morning Show on 91.9 WFPK-FM. The show set a new MeX record: most tickets sold for a four night run. The audience response was overwhelmingly positive, and included this 3 1/2 star (out of 4) review by Mike Lerner, originally posted on LouisvilleMojo.com.

2004 PROJECTS

AUGUST 7: Adam led two panels at ConGlomeration 2004 (August 6-8): an encore presentation of Live From Waverly Hills, and a "Making Of" / Waverly Hills Sanatorium discussion with Dee Gagel ("Julianna Torrance / "Gladys").

JULY: Adam was the Playwright Advisor for Kentucky Opera's 2004 VISIONS program. This innovative annual project selected high school students to spend two weeks collaborating and creating an original libretto, honoring a prominant Kentuckian. The 2004 honoree was Helen Thomas, a Washington reporter for 40 years (from Presidents Kennedy to George W. Bush) who blazed the trail for female journalists. The opera was completed by a resident composer, and debuted at the Bomhard Theater in Spring 2005.

JULY 22, 23, 24, and 26: Sight and Sound presented four short plays at the Rudyard Kipling, including Your Browser Refreshes Every Thirty Seconds, marking its second run at the Rud. Browser was directed and produced by John Hetzel, and starred Marissa Vaught ("Fiona"), Rob Edwards ("Mark"), and Heather Kustes ("Helen").

FEBRUARY 26-28 and MARCH 4-6:A new one-act play of Adam's, A Richard Donner Heaven, debuted as part of the 2004 Louisville Playwright Festival at the Rudyard Kipling.

Cast:

The festival was very successful, with over three hundred people attending its six night run.

2003 PROJECTS

OCTOBER 31, 8:00 PM: Live From Waverly Hills, a JACKPOT TIGER taped radio production, broadcast on 91.9 WFPK-FM. Adam wrote, directed and produced the show.Click here for full credits, trivia, and more.

AUGUST 8 and 9: Adam appeared on five panels / presentations during the first two days of ConGlomeration. Panels included a discussion of The Rocky Horror Radio Show and an academic lecture on nineteenth century utopian fiction.

APRIL 4, 5 and 7: Sight and Sound, in association with JACKPOT TIGER, produced Adam Watson's play Your Browser Refreshes Every Thirty Seconds. The play was part of "Live Without a Net" at The Rudyard Kipling.

CAST

The evening's entertainment included two other plays, stand-up and improv comedy, and a monologue. Adam also recited some of his original poetry. This was JACKPOT TIGER's first official production.

LEO Magazine chose "Live Without a Net" as a StaffPick in its April 2 "Hot Times" section.
