"According to Genealogy of the Pinney Family in America; Author, Laura Young Pinney b. 1849 - published in San Francisco, CA by the Harr Wagner Pub. Co in 1924 Horace , (son of Lieutenant Abraham, son of Captain Abraham, son of Nathaniel, son of Nathaniel, second son of Humphrey Pinne,) and the father of the above 3 brothers arrived in LaPorte county, Indiana about 1837 with his Wife Nancy Snavely whom he had married in 1811 in Virginia and then went to Jackson County, Ohio before coming to LaPorte County and settling in the Clinton Township area.
Horace died in 1839 and Nancy soon after in 1841, they are both buried in Westville Cemetery, LaPorte Co., IN. They had seven children: David born about 1812 , Horace, b. 1817, William b. 1819, Mary b. 1821 (married Phineas Small June 25, 1840 in LaPorte County), Harvey, born 1825 and died in 1834 and Lois, born in 1827 married Jacob Thornbush in LaPorte County May 4, 1843..."
