Roger Johnson sent in this picture of a residential fire in east side of Columbus, IN. On a hot day like it was on Sunday, 10 departments from Bartholomew, Jennings, Decatur Counties responded. From the looks of the one picture, it looks like real trouble. More to follow.
NEWLY BUILT HOME DESTROYED IN WEEKEND FIRE
70 firefighters fought a fire in newly built home for over 6 hours
Sunday. The home, which the owners Doug Osborne and his wife just moved into in
March, was destroyed when an ashtray was emptied into a trash can on the back
porch. Officials estimated 500 thousand dollars in damage to the house on
Bartholomew County Road 200 south near Rockcreek Elementary. (From Columbus
