*Fire, smoke at Kroot
worse than damage*

A scrap metal fire at Kroot Corp. Monday afternoon, August 18, created a large,
black cloud of smoke visible from most points in East Columbus - but it
caused little damage.
The fire started around 2:30 p.m. in a large pile of steel shavings
inside an outbuilding at the business on State Street.
Firefighters said Monday afternoon they had not determined the cause.
