Biohazard drill at U.S. Postal Center, 4738 W. Vernal Pike, Bloomington simulates anthrax attack.

“Contaminated area, do not enter,” read the signs on the doors of the Bloomington Mail Processing Annex on Vernal Pike Tuesday afternoon, July 15th. That day, emergency personnel responded to a mock anthrax attack as part of biohazard drill.

Participating agencies in the drill included the Monroe County Central Dispatch, Monroe County Emergency Management, Monroe County Health Department, Ellettsville Fire Department, Bloomington Township Fire Department, Bloomington Hospital, Pelham Training, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the Bloomington Hospital Ambulance Service, the Monroe County Community School Corporation and the U.S. Postal Service.
