AVON — Firefighters from four county departments searched one of the retention ponds in the Austin Lakes subdivision Tuesday afternoon after a woman’s purse and some items of clothing were found floating on the surface. Jerry Bessler, public information officer for the Avon-Washington Township Fire Department, said firefighters from Avon, Brownsburg, Danville, and Plainfield — all a part of the Hendricks County Technical Rescue Task Force — were dispatched to search the pond. Nothing was found.
