An Online Journal of the Life and Times of Inci & Mark
(...and a crossroads for travellers everywhere)
Who the Hell are we?
The exotic raven-haired beauty is Inci (pronounced En-gee), and she hails from Turkiye (that's Turkey for us Americans). Don't get any ideas, boys, because the mean looking fellow with nary a hair on his head is me, her husband, and he's mighty protective (and apparently a bit loco as he keeps refering to himself in the third person), so mind yer manners. I am a native Kentuckian, padnah.
That cloudy drink in my hand is an anisette flavored libation that the Turks like to call "Raki". It is reminiscent of the infamous Absinthe, and it can be enjoyed with food or alone. Add a little water, which makes it turn milky, and a few cubes of ice, and your ready for those hot Turkish nights, kabob or not.
Inci and I have been a together for almost 7 years, and we both love to travel. She is the perfect travel companion, low maintainance and high spirited, the perfect girl. Together we have roamed thousands of miles. On average we manage to take 2-3 major excurcusions every year, as well as countless weekend geteaways. If we have a couple of days off from work in a row, and a little jingle in our pockets, we ineviatably set out for unfamiliar surroundings. I don't even have to ask, I know her answer. You see, Inci is always ready to hit the road.
Along the way, we have met people at the crossroads, and they've taught us a thing or two. A few have them have become our very dearest friends. This site is dedicated to them. If you are reading this, you know who you are.
So whether your an old friend from the old country, a new one from the new country, or any combination thereof, pull up a chair. Pour yourself a stiff Raki (Yeni, tabi!), prop up yer dusty boots, and rest your travel-weary bones. Inci and I are going to spin you a few yarns. If you have a story to tell, contact us thru the link below. And hey, don't bogart that hookah.
