About The Value of the Metropolitan: The Metropolitan Convertible is worth almost twice as much as a hard top in similar condition. The earlier Metropolitans with the standard 1200 cc engine, hood scoop, and single color are rare, but still worth the same as the later Metropolitan, if not a little less in value. Your best bet in value would be a late model hard top, of preferably the convertible with a trunk lid, and the 1500 cc engine or the 1500 cc HC engine. (It is hard to find parts for the 1200 cc engine and tranny. They are more expensive and some parts are not in production anymore) Most people will drop a late model 1500 cc engine in their early Met.
Definitions of Conditions by Class: A- Completely restored to showroom condition. 95-100 point car. B- Excellent restoration to original specifications. C- Good occasional driver. Very clean and in
un-restored
original condition, D- Running car, with good body and all original components. E- Project car with all needed parts intact, limited structural or rust damage In need of restoration.
The above information is
just a guideline. |
