P&L 3600 is the most powerful Locomotive that the P&L has itself. They are using CSX road slug sets from parent CSX ( CSX now Holds 40% of the P&L ) and the new CSX
601 6000 hp units have run on the P&L. The P&L prefers
4 axle units and long strings of them to pull the coal trains to Louisville Gas & Electric Co. and The Trans loader at the Jefferson Riverport. The P&L's Mainstay Locomotive is the
GP10 from former owner Illinois Conrail's Paducah shop's
now VMV. Here 3600 ( a GP38 ) is moving onto the Turntable at Oak street yard in Louisville. Plenty of good
photo's can be taken in the area around 15th & Oak st.
