This Weigh In

Changing my life one day at a time, one meal at a time

and sometimes one minute at a time

As I go along in my journey to a healthier me I get ask a lot of questions.  I LOVE answering questions about my journey because mostly people are asking because they too want to lead a healthier lifestyle. Here are the questions I am asked the most.  The first 2 are probably the most FAQ.

1. How have you lost weight?   Weight Watchers

2. How much weight have you lost?  I am back to 40 pounds lost

3. When did you start Weight Watchers?  Rejoined in May 2005.  Took off Oct 2005 - Jan 25th 2006

4. How much more do you want to lose?  50 - 55 pounds more

5. Are you starving yourself?  No, I feel like I am eating all the time.

6. Do you still eat fast food?  No I personally don't.  Not because I can't but because I do not crave it.

7. Do you feel deprived?  No, not at all because if I want something that is high in points I plan for it.

8. Do you plan out all your meals?  No I don't.  I do usually have a general idea of what I am going to have but I never know what I am going to feel like eating on any given day usually.

9.  How tall are you?  I am 5' 61/2"  Yes I had to get that extra .5" in

10. What is your favorite low point snack?  Tough question.  It use to be popcorn until I was diagnosed with Diverticulosis.  Now I would have to say Yogurt or any of the 100 calorie snack packs.

11. Do you attend meetings?  Yes I do attend WW meetings and have only miss meetings if I am out of town.

12. Do you exercise?   Yes I do.  I go to Curves for women, I walk and I have a home gym.

13. Do you ever have a free day (not counting points)?  NEVER. I always have counted everything that I have put in my mouth.

14. Have you always been overweight?  Yes and no.  As a child up to the age of 6 I was actually underweight.  For whatever reason after I had my tonsils out is when I started gaining weight.  I do not recall being my current weight in all of my teen or adult life.

15. What does your husband think?  Who knows, he is a man and we really do not ever know what they are thinking. *LOL*

16. Don't you hate having to journal what you eat everyday? Actually no, it does not bother me in the slightest.  When I decided to embark on this journey I knew it was going to be for life.  It was a lifestyle change for me and now journaling is a habit, like getting dressed everyday.

17.  Do you have a motto?  I think my favorite is, "If you bite it, write it." I really prefer to change that around and make it "Write it before you bite it." reason being is I do not like surprise points.  I journal BEFORE I eat never after I eat.

18. Tell us your secrets.  I don't have any secrets.  Some things I do are: drink about 14 cups of water a day, eat 5 servings of fruit/veggies, exercise, don't deprive myself,  journal EVERYTHING that I put in my mouth and attend my weekly WW meetings and Weigh In.

19. What is your favorite thing about losing the weight that you have lost?  By far it has to be being part of the crowd.  What I mean is I now blend in with the general public.  Oh and clothes shopping is awesome!!

20.  What is your advice to someone just starting Weight Watchers?  First and foremost, make sure you are joining for the right reasons. What I mean by that is make sure you are doing it for yourself and for your health.  Losing weight is not going to make all the problems in your life disappear but I do believe they will easier to handle with the self confidence you will gain.
