Smell of Beer to One with a Cold

by James A. Gardner

.
.
.
 Specific bubbles of the
 brewery --
not generalized tickling of the nose
-- which would be a failure
  (poetrywise)
and how!
.
.
    Sitting here
the pungent smell (can't
    smell a thing)
can't shake the smell
can't shake the images (mental)
 ---which would be a failure
    (of the beer)
fermentation, mystical
   sickening.
