Renovations

This time I do it for myself.
The guardian renovation
you call totality.
Among these ledgers I mark my
monuments.

Something that I was or wanted to be
will fall open from creased documents
suddenly.
You see no harm in this
and say to build.
Where brick and steel meet
nurtured in the hull
of some imaginary place
spanning alcoves and alleys.

A full-bodied desire coming forth
in precedence of the world.
There can be no mistake,
Nearby, first body
First thought.

Where each man names his own
They are waiting for me.
To become my self.
As I have done.
As I have done.
