MAID RITE/TAVERN BURGERS

 Maid-RiteŽ Style Sandwiches


 ˝ cup water
 1 1 ˝ pound ground round or lean ground beef
 1 ˝ cups chicken broth (more or less to liking)
 ˝ teaspoon salt (use less if your broth is salted)
 1 teaspoon black pepper (I use more)
 6 hamburger buns
 mustard
 hamburger pickles (I will take about 8 pickles, chopped up and add to meat)
 fresh chopped onion
 one slice American cheese per sandwich

 Crumble ground feef into a hot skillet and cook over medium high heat.  Add water to the beef.
 Stir frequently as the meat browns, using a spatula or the side of a wooden spoon to break the
 meat into small crumbles.

 When meat has browned, drain to remove water and fat from ground beef.  Add chicken broth,m
 salt, pepper, and chopped onion.  Cook until liquid is almost gone, about 10 - 20 minutes
