“You won’t see me coming—You won’t see me going—You won’t see ANYTHING.”

Smokewagon, like Smokescreen, is adept at causing diversions.  He also has a penchant for thievery, and is responsible for stealing at least some of the Decepticon’s most prized inventions, such as the space bridge technology, and several projects Shockwave himself was working on.  In his diversionary capacity, if Optimus Prime wants ground cover to hide troop movements, Smokewagon delivers with a thick, choking, opaque atmosphere.  Smokewagon is all too eager to take the lead of everyone else in battle, and get to the enemy first.  His heavily fortified armor helps protect him in such cases.  He can also carry a variety of missiles on both of his solders (sufficient to punch through, or disable most targets).  Smokewagon is among the strongest of the Autobots in his size class.

When Smokewagon came to Earth, something peculiar happened.  He was intrigued by the human habit of placing a rolled stick of lit vegetation in their mouths, and drawing air (and the byproduct smoke) through it into themselves.  While it seemed counter intuitive to deliberately draw in polluted air, the habit fascinated Smokewagon.  Since most Transformers have a sense of smell and taste that allows them to experience environmental sensation, and stimulation, Smokewagon actually decided to try it for himself.  He did have to roll his own much larger cigarette.  To his surprise he actually found it somewhat pleasant after the first few gags from his air filters (which he then shut down).  To say this is unusual for a Transformer is an understatement.  Smokewagon now “lights up” every so often.  Most of his fellow Autobots eye him strangely, and uncomprehendingly.  This does not seem to bother Smokewagon, who has incorporated the corporate logo of his favorite tobacco brand into his disguise.  Optimus Prime is displeased with this alien habit, and has told Smokewagon several times to go outside when practicing it.

On Cybertron Smokewagon tended to hang out in the reclusive bars.  These areas were dingy with low playing music of an easygoing nature.  It’s what he would call “places of character.”  He still enjoys a good night on the town with “the boys.”
