My backup PC.

Doesn't look very special. It gets the job done though.

Codegen 1102-ca MicroATX mini tower.

Needed some mod's to keep it cool:

120mm Front Fan and a 60mm bay freezer cut directly into the drive cage to cool the 7.2k rpm hard drive.

Both fans at 7v for noise control.

Carefully drilled matrix of 1mm inlet vent holes to get more air into intake fan, notice if you will the scientific placement of these vent holes! A great deal of effort went into the calculation of the vent placements.

80mm Side blowhole with 3 color LED fan, Codegen unfortunately don't ship these cases with a side blowhole, I cut this, needed to be about 1.5" lower down but the venting looks awkward to cut.

Inside the PC:

Motherboard: Asrock K7S41 SiS 741 Chipset, MicroATX, with CPU multiplier, FSB and Vcore control. SiS make sound IDE controllers, you can't run a DVD cutter worth a shit on an nVidia Nforce2 based board! also the SiS chipsets have WORKING MIDI inputs! the nVidia Nforce2 ref spec had a voltage divider on the MIDI IN line, hence MIDI IN doesn't work!

CPU: AMD Athlon XP 1700+ Tbred B core, 256k Cache, factory unlocked. ( @12.5 x 333 FSB)

Cooler: Coolermaster XDream 2. Quiet and nicely priced:

RAM: DaneElec DDR333 256 meg.

VGA: Onboard SiS Xabre200.

Audio: Sblive Platinum with Audigy2 Driver.

DVD Rom: Pioneer 117 with RPC1 Firmware.

Hard Disk: Samsung 120gb UDMA100.

And that's about that.
