5-9 Miles
Welcome back to the Shire! We left the fields around Hobbiton and crossed The Water
"...by a narrow plank bridge..." at the beginning of this part of our journey.
We hurry over the Great East Road that runs from the Brandywine Bridge through the Shire
to the West Farthing. After we cross the road, we are in the rolling hills and more rugged terrain in the Green Hill Country of Tookland.
You're doing a great job. And isn't it fine to walk through the woods of the Shire
humming softly to ourselves at night?
