International papers mill located in Corinth NY, The mill was serviced daily buy the D&H . The train would stop at the Corinth Station, pull the
caboose to the other end of the train and head down grade into the mill. The mill required daily shipments of raw materials, clay slurry, pulp in box cars and starch. During the 1950-60's the mill burned coal for power. It was also during this time that the bulk of the pulp wood logs were shipped in by train.

                



A typical day for the D&H crew would be 6-8 hours. Depending on the weather and switching that needed to be done. During wet or snowy
weather, 2 locomotives were used. This was for positive control on the down grade and pushing back up the hill to the siding at the base of the

high school hill

.

One Stall engine house that the GE 65 ton switcher was stored in.--------D&H S-4, 3033 was used by IP, the 65 ton switcher was in Colonie shops



This route signal was installed to inform the switch crews of the position of the switches inside the mill.

IP had to maintain the yard tracks and rail all the way up to the switch at the Corinth station. here is the work crew returning to the mill after a days work.
