What we are about...

I started modifying cars with my first one: a 1977 Celica GT-S. Over the years I have modified a number of German and Japanese cars, gaining experience through hands on experience, schooling, and professional experience as a Machinist, Welder, Fabricator and Engineer. Professionally I've been in IT for 7 years and for the last 3 years working a 'day job' for a major auto manufacturer in the area of e-business.

My current focus is in electronics design around my 'Black Box' and custom machine work. I have a small shop with a manual Lathe and CNC mill. I am not currently doing any complete cars beyond my personal vehicles.

Current projects are building scale running engines (a inline watercooled 2 cylinder - about 1/2 done, and just starting a 9 cylinder radial). I'll also start building a homebuilt aircraft (WAR FW190A - Just plans so far) and an engine to power it (HCI 7 cylinder R220) as time allows.

I will entertain interesting projects or custom machine work on a case-by-case basis. I can do small runs of parts for nearly any machined part, and enjoy automotive, aircraft and R/C related work if it is in a reasonably small quanity and size (work envelope). I also have contacts for small Carbon Fiber parts if desired. Cost depends on the job complexity, volume, materials, size of the parts and how well the requirements are documented. I don't perform general auto maintenance, install body kits or resell commodity items.

I'll try to answer any questions you may have about current or previous projects. I'll typically get back to you within a day or two if contacted by email.

I hope you enjoy the site, though I know there are sections that are not finished. Feel free to provide feedback, good or bad. You can contact me here: dspinnett@insightbb.com
