Born and raised in southern Indiana near
the town of Odon. Attended a two room schoolhouse in the country for the
first eight years, went to Odon High School graduated in 1947 (see
class picture). Spent two years in the US Army as a tank driver
1951-1953
Being a father to four wonderful children I felt
that I have acquired all the wealth a person could ever hope for. I have
accomplished most of the goals I have set out to do.
Now retired from Allison Transmission Division
of General Motors, I can apply my time to the fun thing in life which
before time did not permit.
My hobby encircles many things, and of course
at the present Computing holds my interest more than anything at the moment.
Other interest are Boating, Archery, riding my GoldWing motorcycle, and
doing contract work for Allison Transmission.
Being Retired to have some thing to do I have set up
a Computer Class Room with eight computers and teaching the residents of the
Masonic Home to use a Computer.
The major portion of my work life was with the
automotive repair business, Mechanic, Shop Foreman, Service Manager, Instructor
for Sun Electric Corporation.
In 1981 I took a job with Allison Transmission
as a rework mechanic and was advanced to an account manager at the Army
Tank Plant in Lima Oh. Spending three years teaching truck mechanics. After
that I was advanced to Account Manager in five western States.
And I may add my children Shannon, Steven, Eric,
and Dana presented me with the most beautiful retirement party a person
could ever have. The theme was "SOARING TO NEW HORIZONS".
Shannon did her usual thing with the decorations. Everything was done so
well.
