Furby Fun

I've been using the CIR to play with a Furby

I wrote a program to record, playback, load and save his infrared signals.

Set it up to record, hold the record module in front of his forehead and keep pressing his tummy switch until he sends a signal (he doesn't do this every time).Save it as 'hello'.

Play this signal back to him and while he's telling you his name, get ready to record another signal. The second one I recorded was 'party', then 'dance'.

The program was written on a 120 mhz Pentium. I'd appreciate feedback on performance with different computers.

Note 5-18-99 I've added an improvement to the program. Now it has a 'test mode'. When you choose that, it will kepp asking for file names. As soon as you hit Enter, it will automatically play the signal. This allows you to play back multiple signals faster.

5-30-99 I've come out with a new version that samples the signal a lot faster. It should be more reliable, but if you upgrade, you'll need to record the signals again. The signal files aren't backwards compatible.
