BUZZ

Buzz is the founding, & oldest member of THE DESPERATE HOUSEFLIES. Shortly after receiving his masters in anthropology from North Western University, he married his college sweetheart Beverly, & moved into a small apartment in Louisville, Kentucky, his home town. Less than 2 months later, after a concert at The Phoenix Hill Tavern, Beverly ran off with a roadie for the Marshall Tucker Band. Trying to win her back, & after taking piano lessons for almost 2 weeks, he joined his 1st band, Terry & the Turds. After some ups & downs in the music business (see band history) he founded THE DESPERATE HOUSEFLIES. Although all the members of the band contribute to the creative process, Buzz is the leader,  main song writer, & owns his own microphone. He is also a member of a small, but active, religious sect that worships Regis Philbin as a God.

GOOSE

All of Goose's closest friends know that he got his nickname in High School from a verb, not a noun. He always been the band's point man for the ladies. Women almost always get the idea that he is wealthy, because of his sophisticated demeanor, his impeccable grooming, & because he always tells women that he's wealthy. THE DESPERATE HOUSEFLIES is Goose's 1st professional band, however when he was younger he played the organ--until his monkey died. That's also part of the story of how he got his nickname "Goose."

GREASE BALL JOHNNY

Grease Ball Johnny is the only member of THE DESPERATE HOUSEFLIES that uses his real name on stage. His mother named him right after experiencing a very quick labor & birth. He might have shot all the way across the delivery room, but the doctor had played half back for the University of Louisville Cardinals Football Team while working his way through Med School in the late 60's. He made the catch (& the 1st down). Because of this, Grease Ball Johnny has always loved football, & he firmly believes OJ was framed.

He picked up his 1st guitar at the early age of  12. Unfortunately, it belonged to his next door neighbor. The judge sentenced him to 6 months in juvenile hall. While there, he met a janitor who was a musician, & had played the blues in the old Southern Chitlin Circuit under the name Sweet Molasses Morey (his dad was Jewish). Grease loved the old man's stories of the road, & impromptu jam sessions with the 30 or 40 (depending on whether it was a weekend or not) bass players in lock up. He was so impressed, after he was released from juvenile hall, Grease stole his guitar too.

 THE VIKING

Nothing much is known about bass player, The Viking. He doesn't own a car, phone, address, or bass that anyone's aware of. To contact for gigs, rehearsal, or meetings with his parole officer, a note is posted on the telephone pole outside the Starbucks on Baxter Avenue. After that he may be there, or he may not. However, he only plays Fender Bass's, because all his friends play Fender Bass's.

    TRICKY 66

Tricky 66 is THE DESPERATE HOUSEFLIES newest member, replacing original drummer Pete Best after the group's early success. He was given his nickname early in his career. All that is known: He was named by a groupie, & she was treated & released. He also would like everyone to know that he is not gay. However he has seen Brokeback Mountain 7 times, & once dated Katie Holmes.
