First replace the drywall ceiling with plywood -- note ceiling's sag to bottom of I-beam |

a couple of sistered 2x6s should help the joists east of the I-beam -- wrestling these things up 11', alone, is a challenge! |
The ridge pole is already less sway backed. |
Continuous timbers would have worked, but two aren't enough with splices -- not for a 21 foot span (I know it's bad design, but it's a lot better than it was!) |
For the main room, it's just lighting and cosmetics now. Note the tripled beam, shimmed joints, and extra bolts |
