1166 CC's! As much as the original 4 cylinder vw engine!!

I can only take credit for welding one head, sans intake tube, and I lost a years worth of pictures of the other engine work, when the battery ran down on my camera. I took it in to Wally Word to let them take care of it and develop the pictures. Instead of putting a new battery in and rewinding the film, they tried to take it out of the camera in the little black box--wrong move. Anyway live and learn. I did cut and drill  the cam and rocker shafts, plug the oil galleries, mill out the back lifter bores, clearance the piston skirts and figured out the proper shims to set the C.R. with. Other than that I have other people to thank for my beautiful big Stroker motor. Don Bolton comes readily to mind. Don heads up the Bug Patch, and no finer vw engine machine shops exists. Don did the conversion to the front thrust bearing arrangement on my crank and clearanced the case. Don's current biggy is the CNC ported heads he developed. I will be getting my hot little hands on one soon. Also Bob Demello made my humongous 84 MM crank.  Bob is renowned  for his stroker crank work, and he did not invent the 1/2 vw motor, but my understanding is he deserves a lot of credit on perfecting the 92mm bore set up. I refer you to Steve Kiblinger's excellent documentation on the engine build, since all I have left to do is mount a few accessories and fire this monster up!
