Here is some information on the tracks we run, the clubs we race with etc.

Road Racing is a european style of racing. It consist of tracks that simulate winding country roads. They are asphalt and have both left and right turns and sometimes elevation changes. Some curves are fast and can be taken "flat out" (at full speed) while others are very tight and might require brakeing down from well over a hundred miles an hour to less than thirty miles an hour to make a corner. Road racing requires a high degree of braking, shifting and cornering skills unlike oval track racing. The fastest path around a race track and specifically through a corner is known as the racing "line" and in a small engined car like mine, hitting the line precisely every time is essential to going fast.

Blackhawk Farms Raceway

is our "home" track. It's 2 miles long. Very nice wooded infield area to roam about and watch from. For more information on Blackhawk farms check the link below: (This will cause you to leave the Curt Fisher Racing site however):

Blackhawk farms Google map

Blackhawk Farms is located near Rockton ILL. (near the Wisc. border, north of Rockford). Directions: Interstate 90 to the Rockton Exit, then west. Pass through the town of Rockton to Prairie Road then turn north to the track. There are road signs on Rockton Road and the route to the track to help. watch closely for the signs or, the same thing, in other words: Take I-90 west to the Rockton Road exit (about 15 miles north of Rockford.) Go west on Rockton Road, through town, cross over 3 bridges. After the 3rd bridge, take the 2nd right onto Prairie Road. We are about 1 1/2 miles on the left. When towing I take I-39 up to I-90. Otherwise I usually just drive up along the river to bypass 20 then take it to I-90.
