Below are pictures from our short 2004 Vintage race season. This consisted of the
6/12/04 MC drivers school, and the 6/13/04 race at Blackhawk farms and then the
following weekend (June 19 and 20) the VSCDA June Vintage CLASSIC at Blackhawk
Farms raceway. I sold the Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite because Vintage Racing just didn't supply the "bang for the buck" that Spec Racer Ford does.
This is one of
the instructors who just stopped by to compliment my car and chat a bit. The
instructors were great. Mine was Don Droegkamp who was very knowledgable and
helpful.
Starting turn in
at turn 1 at Blackhawk
our freinds,
Ken Smith and family and his Datsun Fairlady made the drivers school and first
race a lot of fun. They are great company at the track.
Looking forward
to seeing Ken at MC races though we will be in different race groups now.
Jeannine and Tess
in the paddock between turns 4 and 5 keep the race car calm between
sessions.

Below: Pictures
from the VSCDA June Classic 2004. It was fun being close up
to such cool old cars sliding, drifting, screaming and tire smoking around the
track. However the risk of damaging one, was daunting.
