What is Direct Printing?

Direct printing is direct-to-fabric with no transfers. Direct printing produces a matte image that moves with the garment because the ink is actually embedded in the fabric for ultimate wearable comfort. After a few washes, you will notice the great durability of Direct Printing. That means greater image staying power.

What is Heat Transfer?

Heat Transfer is as durable as screen-printing, but offers more detail. Heat Transfer uses heat to create a bond between the resin and the T-Shirt, locking the ink between the two layers. Heat Transfer has a slight plastic feel when first worn, however, this feel will diminish after washing.

Which is better Direct Printing or Heat Transfer?

I do not think that one is better than the other although they both have their pros and cons so it really is a personal preference. Here are the pros and cons of both types of printing:

The benefits of Heat Transfer
  • Vibrant colors - great for photos and detailed imagery
  • Good washability, fading happens over the first few washes
Things to keep in mind with Heat Transfer
  • May crack on ribbed garments
  • Has a slightly stiffer feel
  • Transfer outline may be visible with some designs
  • May yellow over time
The benefits of Direct Printing
  • Great washability - no fading
  • No feel of ink on the fabric (the ink is in the fabric)
  • No cracking
  • No transfer lines
Things to keep in mind with Direct Printing
  • Colors are not as vibrant as Heat Transfer

I like a design can I use it on my website or on my MySpace profile?

I am flattered that you would like to use my design on your website or MySpace and I do ask that you email us for permission.  I usually do grant permission provided that I have the URL where it will appear and that the shop is linked to the graphic.  You email info@paraapparel.com for permission.

How will I know when a print or design is going to retire?

The best way to keep up with news from Para-Apparel is to sign up to receive our newsletter.  We will not only let you know when a print or design is going to retire but when an item will be discontinued and when new items are coming.  You can sign up for the newsletter at Para-Apparel.

Can you design a logo for our upcoming event and host it in a section of your shop?

Yes I can design a logo for your event and it would be hosted in the Paranormal Events Department.  Also if you already have a logo you would like to use you can send it to us and we can put that image on apparel and gifts (although keep in mind it will all depend on the logo as to what it can go on).  If you are going to send  a logo it is preferred that it is in .png format.  You can email your logo to us at info@paraapparel.com
