SoME_9.1.jpg (19895 bytes) OK, I know it has been a while since my last update, but this one should catch us up on any recent developments. This photo is super structure #2 (remember him from way, way back). If you look through past reviews you will notice this piece to be Wald’s house fronting from S.o.M.E. update #1. Behind the house front I built a huge structure that creates some realistic depth for the homestead, as well creating a backdrop for the main vending area from last update (which also creates some inner-city alley ways for general Jawa mischief) and finally offers an entire caged in area for Dewbacks or other beasts of burden that are up for sale or trade. On the reverse side of this piece (unseen in this photo) is one of Watto’s many junkyards. We will see that in a minute! But first……….

SoME_9.2.jpg (22958 bytes) Here is a better shot of the stable area. This photo features 3 Star Wars custom figures that I tried to design in the same motif, as if they are members of a gang. The total idea is to have some smaller free standing cages setting outside the stable with smaller animals for sale/trade. Perhaps Massif pups? However that idea has yet to materialize. This is my first example of a wall mounted moisture evaporator which is being tweaked by one of Watto’s many service droids. This particular evaporator model has piping that runs throughout this entire super structure leaving water sources available for easy access. Also, if you look at the top center of this photo you will see Watto’s balcony which beautifully overlooks his small inner-city junkyard and the main vending area seen in last update. . . te detail. Let’s view theses shops a little closer.

Here is Ani, Wald and Kister coming up with some street wise plan or game to play with one another on a long hot dessert afternoon. This photo just captures the overall scale of this super structure. This mutha is huge - and when placed ever so snuggly beside super structure #1, look out.

SoME_9.4.jpg (18566 bytes) This is a shot of Watto’s backyard/junkyard area with 2 service droids working about. This is the entrance/exit Watto takes when we wants to be let out straight into the main market/vending area. He also uses this area to keep prized pieces of junk that he wishes not to keep at his main junk shop. Notice the final Lego decos – they are supposed to be a security system. The best on the market baby!

SoME_9.5.jpg (31859 bytes) SoME_9.6.jpg (19010 bytes) Here is a little sneak peak of the current piece of city structure I am working on. This is the upper floor to the Mos Espa Cantina. There is definitely a lot of action going on in this bar. Plenty of drinking and bowl smoking for everyone, even a game of Djerrek it time allows. This is my first attempt at running electricity through the inside of a structure and it turned out quite nice thanks to a strand of Christmas lights. I promise that the next update will feature all of the wonderful aspects of this piece, but for now I just wanted to show you the main area with natural lights as well as bar/diorama lights only – for contrast. There are many great features on this piece to discuss – however we will get to them later. For now I hope you like this sneak peak. Keep checking back for future updates.
