Dear
Principal
Once
again, Insight is happy to offer you participation in our leadership program,
Insight Project USA: Uniting Students for America. Through this
program, students identified as having leadership potential work with a mentor
in three phases of leadership.
- The
team will determine needs of the school or community.
- They
will design activities or events which will help meet those needs.
- They
will work to inspire and motivate their student body to participate in the
activities or events.
There
are a number of reasons why Insight Project USA would be a welcome
project for your students.
-
Students with leadership potential need venues to exhibit that ability in
positive ways. This program is all about leading others to positive ends.
This project helps them to develop and practice their leadership skills.
- Most
educators try to instill the idea of “giving back to others” in their
students. Insight incorporates a volunteer element within our
leadership project. A school faculty member working with either leadership or
student volunteerism may want to incorporate Insight Project USA
as a way to energize their program and interest their leadership students into
creating and promoting volunteer activities for the student body of the
school.
-
In
addition to the good this brings your students and the beneficiaries of their
volunteerism, many of the participating schools will be promoted in public
service announcements featured on our multi-channel advertising (approximately
25 cable channels). We will also be featuring pictures of leadership groups
on our L.O. Channel 5. We want the public to know the good things students
in our area are doing!
-
Although prize money is not the main consideration, we plan to award a
substantial money prize to one or more schools whose Project USA team is
determined by a panel of judges to have provided the greatest
leadership.
-
Insight Project USA
allows for very easy participation and a mentor can encourage as much
involvement as desired. The project will run thru
February. If you have already identified a Leadership Team and they
have already completed projects, those may be included as long as they fit
within the guidelines of Insight Project USA.
After
you review the enclosed information, we hope you will see the wonderful benefits
Insight Project USA would bring to your students. The first step
is to identify an educator to mentor the leadership group and enable them to
participate in this wonderful opportunity. Please have your leadership mentor
email me at

telephone me at 796-8204 to officially register your school as a participant in
Insight Project USA: Uniting Students for America as soon as
possible.
Sincerely,
Kay Zoretic
