Artist: Armor For Sleep Album: What to Do When You Are Dead Release: 2005 Label: Equal Visions Records Best Song: Stay On the Ground SST(Sounds Similar To): Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, Thursday
Armor For Sleep began as a one man project in New Jersey in 2002. Lead singer Ben Jorgensen
was tired of recording the vocals, drums and guitar for his new project, so he was forced to recruit an
additional band members to take on the work load, which in time formed into Armor For Sleep. "What to Do When
You Are Dead" is AFS's second released album and contains a mix of pop/emo and "Brand New"-esq mellow songs. The
first half of the album fulfills the pop/emo mood with songs such as "Car Underwater" and "Remember to Feel Real". The
second half contains the more mellowed out (and my favorite) songs such as "The More You Talk the Less I Hear" and
"Wasting a Night, Alone". Either way you look at it, this is a great breakout album for a semi-underground band.
