Editorial Role

As organizers, advisors, and, to however appropriate an extent, collaborators—not just proofreaders or content generators—it’s important to recognize that professional editors are responsible for making the entire project happen.

Equally important in the design of texts prepared for manuscript or electronic print is that they typically take longer to complete than expected.  It necessarily follows that, unless all parties have agreed to a definitive deadline beforehand, all projects undertaken should have a reasonable time line for completion.  The rates listed below are industry standard ranges, and are contingent on time spent, in hours, with regard to materials scheduled for publication.

Where verbal agreements are sufficient for some projects, contracts are required for extended projects (more than 60 days).
