9. Is 10 percent of the American population really homosexual?
 

    Was Kinsey's research based on science or social agenda? The Kinsey Institute's widely reported statistic that 10 percent of American population is homosexual is false and was based on faulty research. The most recent scientific studies have consistently shown that between one to two percent of the population is exclusively homosexual. New Direction Ministries cites many studies in their report on "How Many Gay and Lesbian People Are There"? that support a one to four percentage of homosexuals in the general population.
    Kinsey never stated that 10 percent of the population was homosexual. What he said was that 10 percent of men between 16 and 55 years of age mostly or exclusively engaged in homosexual relationships for at least a three-year period. Only 4 percent of white males were exclusively homosexual throughout their lives.
